॥श्रीगणाधिप-पञ्चरत्नम्॥
Gaṇādhipa-pañcaratna

The following Gaṇādhipa-pañcaratna was written by the 33rd Jagadguru of the Dakshinamnaya Sringeri Sharada Peetham, Sri Sacchidananda Shivabhinava Nrisimha Bharati Mahaswami , in imitation of Sri Adi Shankara’s famous Gaṇeśa-pañcaratna to be read as a prayer before the Mahāgaṇapati Vakyārtha Sabha commenced at Sringeri.

sarāgalokadurlabhaṃ virāgilokapūjitaṃ
surāsurairnamaskṛtaṃ jarāpamṛtyunāśakam।
girā guruṃ śriyā hariṃ jayanti yatpadārcakā
namāmi taṃ gaṇādhipaṃ kṛpāpayaḥpayonidhim ॥1॥

I bow to Lord Gaṇeśa, an ocean of mercy, who is difficult to attain by the impassioned and worshipped by the dispassionate, who is revered by the gods and demons, who destroys old age and untimely death. The worshippers of His feet surpass Bṛhaspati (the preceptor of the gods) in speech and Lord Viṣṇu in splendor.

गिरीन्द्रजामुखाम्बुजप्रमोददानभास्करं
करीन्द्रवक्त्रमानताघसङ्घवारणोद्यतम् ।
सरीसृपेशबद्धकुक्षिमाश्रयामि सन्ततं
शरीरकान्तिनिर्जिताब्जबन्धुबालसन्ततिम् ॥२॥

I joyfully bow to Lord Gaṇeśa, the ruler of obstacles, who bestows kingship, who is the master of heaven and the other worlds, who wards off fever and other diseases, who has expelled hordes of demons. His lotus-like hand sports a goad (a hook to drive an elephant). He is constantly contemplated by the heart of those of unagitated minds.

śramāpanodanakṣamaṃ samāhitāntarātmanāṃ
sumādibhiḥ sadārcitaṃ kṣamānidhiṃ gaṇādhipam ।
ramādhavādipūjitaṃ yamāntakātmasambhavaṃ
śamādiṣaḍguṇapradaṃ namāmyahaṃ vibhūtaye ॥5॥

For (attaining) prosperity I bow to Lord Gaṇeśa, who is competent at removing fatigue of those whose inner self is composed. He is always worshipped by flowers etc. and is a repository of forbearance. He is worshipped by Lord Viṣṇu (the consort of Goddess Lakṣmī) and others. He is the son of Lord Śiva (the terminator of Yama – the god of death) and bestows the set of six (good) qualities – restraint of the mind etc.

gaṇādhipasya pañcakaṃ nṛṇāmabhīṣṭadāyakaṃ
praṇāmapūrvakaṃ janāḥ paṭhanti ye mudāyutāḥ ।
bhavanti te vidāṃ puraḥpragītavaibhavā javāt
cirāyuṣo’dhikaśriyaḥ susūnavo na saṃśayaḥ ॥6॥

This collection of five verses (in praise) of Lord Gaṇeśa, grants the wishes of those persons who reverentially chant with joy. Soon, their glory is sung in front of the scholars. There is no doubt that they have a long life with abundant wealth and good progeny.
