You can contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund at a public charity and you are eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is a Tax-Effective Way to Donate Money to Charity. This is a distribution from an IRA made directly to an eligible charity, bypassing the owner of the account. Owners of individual retirement accounts who are at least age 70-1/2 can contribute their IRAs to charity. Donors above this age having an IRA account are required to take a distribution and the donor can choose to send this amount directly to our organization making it as not taxable for the donor. Donor will have to fill the form 1099-R and give it to your retirement account manager. The proceeds of funds will be transferred to the SVBF, a 501(c)(3) organization to the bank account directly.
